Alexstrasza was born and raised in Moscow, Russia into an unloving European family with 5 other siblings; three brothers and two sisters. Ever since she was little, her immense levels of intelligence and extraordinary skills with technology and computers have been well known in schools and across the districts. Once she reached the age of 12, her father killed her mother with no known reason, and committed suicide, leaving the six Shostakovich children without parents. They were all sent for adoption due to the fact that their family members did not want to deal with their shocked and emotional states, seperating the six. She is unsure of her siblings' whereabouts to this day.
Her adoptive parents never understood her abnormal intelligence, and along with their son, Alexstrasza's foster brother, shunned and alienated her for her years growing up. This shunning led the young girl to build a "wall" between her and the world, concentrating on her intelligent skills that were once praised to escape harsh realities. Once she had been approached by the Institution by the Dean himself, he categorized her skill as Cyber Mind, and insited that she joined the University as a student.
